How much do you spend?

Well, this week was I was emailing with a girlfriend of mine about Norwex. She did not believe that the average American spends $50 a month on cleaning products. She thought maybe she wasn’t cleaning enough- or I cleaned too much. I asked her to think about all the cleaning products from the toilet bowl cleaner to the mop that you will need to replace every 2 or 3 months. She decided to become more aware of her spending and compare. We both agreed that the less trips to places like Wal-Mart and Target we save money just staying home. I was in Walmart yesterday and I was watching these two older women stare at the wall of Swiffer products and I was shocked at how many choices and how expensive. I was a big user of these before Norwex. They are so convenient, but that is before I did the math. A six month supply of the Swiffer Wet jet, the traditional Swiffer sweeper and the accompanying cloths is well over $300. Most people I know use a couple of cloths per cleaning session and they cost almost a $1 a cloth. Not to mention they are not biodegradable. AAAH. If you do some Norwex math, for a little more then $90 for 2 years you can use a quality durable mop over and over and know you are not throwing money or non environmentally safe materials away. How cool!

I get so excited because the more research I do the more truth I find to the negatives of cleaning products and the positives of microfiber and all the other environmentally safe products Norwex offers. I hope this has caused you to think, " How much do I spend?" and hopefully you will find out how you can stop throwing your money away.

"Going Green" on the Today show

This week I just happened to turn the television on at 8:30 in the morning and caught the Today show. Rarely do I get to watch anything but PBS since my 3 kids monopolize the television, but this particular morning I was drinking coffee and happened onto The Today show where Matt Lauer featured Sloan Barnett, the author of Green Goes with Everything, speaking about making green choices in our everyday lives. I have included the clip to view this interview below. In this day in age getting chemicals out of our homes is not a bizarre concept and it is a very serious thing when it comes to our long term health. In fact, the Today show has an entire portion of their website devoted to 'Green'.

I also want to mention, a friend of mine has a website that allows moms to vote for there favorite products, stores, hang outs, you name it. Check out www.momfaves.com and vote for my Norwex site. Thanks
